School Field Trips and Farm Demonstrations

Our hands-on farm field trip programs offer a unique opportunity for students to immerse and participate in the work, the beauty and the seasonal rhythms of farm life. Our farm programs are designed for 3rd graders through high school students, and the educational programs cover a variety of topics to meet the needs of each classes curriculum.

Our half day farm programs begin with the Farmers sharing an introduction to the farm and the role of the animals, the plants, and the soil, and the importance of the Farmer’s role as steward of the farm. Our biodynamic farm offers a variety of seasonal hands-on farm activities for students to learn by engaging in the work. Farm projects can include:

  • Milking a cow and learning about the sacred the cow on the farm

  • Garden projects—planting & harvesting crops

  • Soil health and compost building and farm fertility management

  • Chicken egg collection & moving pastured chicken houses

  • Draft Animal Power working demo and/or wagon ride

  • Moving Cows to Pasture, rotational grazing & carbon sequestration

  • Food Processing—seasonal food milling dry corn, butter making, herbal teas.

  • Animal and Plant Observation and Mindfulness

Program Time: 9:30am to 12:30pm  *       

Program Fee:  $540 for groups up to 12 students; Larger classes add on $45 per additional student.**

** We try to make our programs as accessible as possible; if your school or group needs financial support please inquire about possible scholarship funds in the contact form.

Classes are welcome to bring sack lunches and use farm picnic table area from 12:30pm to 1:00 pm after program ends. The farm also provides outdoor hand-washing facilities and port-a-potty for use.
